Kamenitza Office Park – A BREEAM-Certified Vision in Vratza Limestone
The Kamenitza Office Park Vratza Limestone facade is a brilliant showcase of how natural stone integrates into ultra-modern, energy-efficient corporate architecture. Located in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, this award-winning business hub demanded a material that could offer both timeless elegance and cutting-edge thermal performance.
The Vision: Modernity & Sustainability The architects at SGI envisioned a dynamic corporate center that meets the highest European sustainability standards, eventually earning a BREEAM certification. The challenge was finding a facade material that could seamlessly blend with the expansive high-tech glass curtain walls while providing a solid, monumental framing that grounds the building visually.
The Solution: A Precision Ventilated Facade Vratza Limestone with a sophisticated honed finish was chosen to wrap the structural framework of the complex.
● Architectural Contrast: The warm, matte beige tones of the limestone create a striking, organic contrast against the cold, reflective surfaces of the glass, giving the building a distinct, premium corporate identity.
● Energy Efficiency: Engineered as a highly complex ventilated facade with specialized aluminum under-structures, the stone cladding plays a crucial role in the building’s thermal insulation, significantly lowering cooling costs during scorching summer months.
● Precision Engineering: Every limestone panel was CNC-calibrated to millimeter precision to align flawlessly with the glass modules, proving the stone’s exceptional workability.
This project stands as a testament to Vratza limestone’s vital role in the future of sustainable, green-certified commercial real estate.
